Course Overview

 

In this course participants will acquire a detailed understanding of HIV infection, transmission, treatment, and prevention around the globe by focusing on specific issues and interventions within various countries and cultures. Research articles and evaluation studies of community-based HIV investigations and interventions will provide the framework through which participants will explore the variety of ways in which community diagnosis and outreach can take place.  

 

Course Requirements

 

All participants must take part (read and post responses) in the weekly discussion forums. In addition participants are expected to complete a term project in which they create an HIV education and/or prevention program for a specific community or population. The term project will consist of three parts:

Each week the participants postings on the discussion forum will be graded on a scale of one to three points according to the following criteria:
